One of my weaknessess is trying out new food. I love pasta and have enjoyed it since I was a child. My fondest memories were eating spaghetti and slurping the noodles. Now I go to Olive Garden and enjoy their variety of pasta dishes followed by a glass of red wine. Hearing about the Capalleni Pomodoro has definately intrigued me into stopping in for dinner.

As the chefs would describe it, this dish makes use of roma tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, olive oil and these ingredients are combined with capellini. And as per suggested by the resident chef of the restaurant, this dish can be washed down by Cavit Pinot Grigio.

Main ingredients to expect from Lasagna Fritta

For this dish, diners can expect the Parmesan-breaded lasagna pieces. These are then fried and offered to diners with Alfredo sauce. On top of the fried pieces are Parmesan cheese and marinara sauce.

Olive Garden – Red Lobster ribbon cutting

An unique restaurant was just opened at Palm coast Landing on March 7th. This new prototype restaurant by Darden Restaurant, Inc., is actually two distinct restaurant in one building. Olive Garden and Red Lobster will both reside in the same building and share the same kitchen. However all aspects of service will be separate.

Our neighbors to the south in Palm Coast celebrated the grand opening of their Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants and Historic City News was on hand for the ribbon cutting on Wednesday, March 9th.

The prototype restaurants located on East SR-100 at Palm Coast Landing are a combination of the two most popular brands of Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, Inc.

Although the restaurants share one building and one kitchen, there are two separate entrances to the themed restaurants each offering their own unique cuisine and atmosphere. The dining rooms are separate and servers do not allow customers to cross-order from the other menu.

The restaurants opened for dinner on March 7, and both restaurants will serve lunch and dinner beginning tomorrow, Saturday, March 12th.

After the two ribbon cuttings Wednesday, the restaurants treated local officials to a taste of what everyone has been waiting for.

Jazz Rookies Take In Manhattan By Dining At The Olive Garden

Do you keep your money under good watch? Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Evans sure did! In New York City, where you could find the most expensive cuisines, they chose Olive Garden, where food is good, cheap, and enjoyable. Lot's of buzz on that one! Hayward is a humble man and also chose, instead of sports cars, a Honda Accord. If they have style and have money left over, so can you! Who wants breadsticks?

Two Jazz rookies, Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Evans, decide to go out to dinner in New York City where the culinary options were endless. But somehow chose to go for the Olive Garden.

I knew people were hating, the 20-year-old Gordon Hayward told the Deseret News, but I don't know what's wrong with Olive Garden, to be honest.

The entire Twitter world buzzed over their restaurant of choice.

We wanted Olive Garden, Hayward said. Anywhere it's good pasta, good breadsticks, good salad.

More importantly, it was also affordable and convenient for the youngsters.

It's cheap, he said. It was right around the corner.

Can't blame the two kids for being smart with their money. Who knows they may be saving up for when the Jazz vets force them to pony up for a costly team dinner.

Hayward is not one for being flashy. Instead of splurging on a high-priced sports car when he signed his multi-million dollar, the youngster opted for a Honda Accord.

Instead of receiving playful jabs from fans and teammates, the rookies should be given some love for being wise with their money. In a time where gas prices are going through the roof and unemployment is still high, pinching pennies goes a very long way.

It's actually refreshing to find out that Hayward and I have multiple things in comment. We both enjoy endless pasta bowls and drive Honda's.

Cheers for gas mileage!

Start Weeping: Landlords Want More Olive Gardens!

Large restaurants are closing their doors in the face of the Great Recession. They pose incredible Catch 22's, of sorts. While they do extremely well when customers are frequent, they also cannot make enough to cover their operating costs in slow times. While this is true, it has not stopped restauranteurs from opening new, very large operations with big name chefs. Only time will tell whether these investments are sound.

Don't get us wrong, endless salad and breadsticks are great, but this tidbit from Post columnist Steve Cuozzo's feature on the recent rash of restaurant closings was pretty depressing: Prudential Douglas Elliman's Faith Hope Consolo said landlords want chain Fig & Olive types. Every time I get a space that's fit for a restaurant, the landlord calls and says, I don't want a typical restaurant -- I want Pret a Manger, she said. Or, Bring me another Olive Garden. Well, not only are you family at the OG, you can also apparently find classy chicks.

Cuozzo adds Angelo & Maxie's and Maxie's Grill to a list of closings that includes Tabla, Matsugen, Japonais, Montenapo, Convivio and Alto, noting All were big (more than 200 seats including bars and lounges). Most were helmed by big-name owners or chefs, and/or occupied prime locations. BR Guest's Stephen Hanson opined, The big ones have double-edged swords. When the economy's great, you can do very well. When it's not, the expense of running such a large operation can eat you up very quickly.

There's also some sniping about upcoming joints: One broker referred to the new Danny Meyer restaurant, North End Grill, which will be headed by Tabla's former chef Floyd Cardoz, I don't know how much business there is in Battery Park City. But at least Lloyd Blankfein will have a good place for lunch.

You can't go wrong when you use coupons for coupons for Olive Garden Restaurant to eat well and save money at the same time.
